In the spiritual arena, we often talk about going through the spiritual ascension process but are we ascending? And, if we are ascending, have you wondered where we are going to?
When we talk of entering into a period of spiritual ascension, we align it with time and as time is an illusion, is spiritual ascension an illusion too?
What Is Spiritual Ascension?
The term Ascension means the action of rising to an important position or a higher level. Is the act of ascension, therefore, an illusion of ego?
Our ego needs to identify with separation, it calls for us to distinguish who we are and encourages us to set ourselves apart from others. Therefore perhaps when we talk of spiritual ascension, we are allowing our egoic mind to keep us in an illusion that panders to our sense of self-worth. After all, if WE are ascending, then are we delusional believing WE are special?
Do we really need to measure our spiritual growth? Or, should we perhaps be focusing on how well our own awareness is expanding? When we can disassociate from our ego (our thoughts), we experience life from a deeper spiritual dimension, the heaven that exists in all of us.
The process of ascension perhaps is not something to move towards, perhaps that which we believe we are working towards already exists within us.
Walking this morning, I was aware of how I had spent most of my life thinking I knew who I was. When we lose loved ones particularly losing a father, mother, or partner it can really strike out at our identity and make us question who and what we are.
Having lost so many people in my life last year (2019) I found myself in this predicament. The pure fear of not being able to identify who I was, what I represented brought much pain and suffering. I now realise that to not know who you are is liberating. I am now free of definition. The need to be this, or that, is gone and what I am is simple, I am LIFE. How liberating would it be when people ask you ‘who are you?” you respond with I am life?
Removing myself from thought, from the need to be ‘someone’ and ‘something’, has brought a new dimension to life. I share these thoughts with you today, in the hope that anyone who is struggling with the identity of self, or with stressing out about their life purpose and where they are going, can perhaps see it is futile to worry about such things.
For in being, everything unfolds as it should. Everything that is meant to come to you will, there is no fear, there is nothing but the simplicity of life that is ever giving and ever-loving. I have noticed over these past few weeks that the more I disassociate with my mind, my thoughts, the greater the impact just being present has had on my family. A greater energy of peace has descended into our home.
The push of sibling rivalry is day-by-day diminishing as each person is learning to see that it is the thought which is causing the unhappiness rather than the action or words. Learning to state a fact about something that needs correcting without emotion or judgement is becoming easier and greater connection with each other is becoming deeper.
So, are we really spiritually ascending? I believe we aren’t, I believe we are in the process of merely transforming our awareness. When we disassociate from our mind, our physical bodies react to mental and emotional messages to try and distract us from our authentic self, our soul.
This is perhaps why when people try to meditate our minds bombard us with thoughts to try and distract us. When that doesn’t work, the mind and emotions stimulate physical impulses such as twitching, itching, muscle cramps to again bring our awareness back to the mental level.
When Jesus said “The Kingdom of God” is within you, he was right. The ascension process isn’t going to a higher level, it is going within, reconnecting with our soul and the way we do this is to disassociate ourselves from our mind and move into a pure state of observation when we observe we move into a different dimension, the christ consciousness dimension.
What observations do you have about this post? Does it resonate with you? Does it help to eliminate the stress of trying to be a better person, a more spiritual being? I would be interested to read your observations if you’d care to comment below.
